Community Palliative Consultants

Community Palliative Consultants helps people of any age find relief from the symptoms, pain and stress caused at any stage of any serious, complex or chronic illness. Established by Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in 2010, this multidisciplinary team of specially trained physicians, advanced registered nurse practitioners, social workers and chaplains guide intensive discussions with patients and their families to help establish goals of care and facilitate decision making. Community Palliative Consultants staff works with the patient’s attending physician to relieve suffering and improve quality of life by aligning expectations of care with realistic outcomes and treatment options, which may include a curative plan. Halifax Health - Center for Oncology

The Halifax Health Center for Oncology is part of a nonprofit, acute-care hospital with approximately 700 licensed beds, serving East Central Florida. The Halifax Health Center for Oncology is a full-service cancer center providing preventive, diagnostic, and treatment services. The program employs board certified medical, radiation, and a gynecologic oncologist. The Oncologists and medical staff collaborate on multidisciplinary evaluations and care through weekly conferences. Radiation Oncology Services include Varian iX, Novalis Tx and Elekta Synergy systems with multileaf collimator and on board imaging capable of respiratory gating and cone beam CT. This program provides low dose rate brachytherapy, prostate brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, SBRT, IMRT, IGRT, BEXXAR, and genetic testing. The medical oncology/ hematology program utilizes the latest chemotherapy/biological therapy available as well as access to national clinical trials. The Gynecologic/Surgical oncology program provides the only da Vinci robotic surgery system to the East Central Florida area.

In the Pink

We serve all people with all cancers. We provide free services, such as wigs, lymphedema sleeves, etc. to those who qualify. We also provide free yoga and meditation classes to all cancer patients. We have two locations in Jacksonville. We are in-network for most insurance companies and file the claims for the services/items provided. We are a nonprofit organization for young adults with cancer ages 18 - 35. We provide our members with unique opportunities, adventurous activities, and support from other young adults with cancer. Women's Center of Jacksonville/Bosom Buddies

Bosom Buddies meets every Monday from 7-8:30 pm. Information & Referral Services are provided. Survivor Advocates are available to accompany newly diagnosed women to doctor's appointments and act as a second set of ears. Personal growth workshops are offered. Mayo Clinic Florida

Mayo Clinic Cancer Center (MCCC) is a National Cancer Institute (NCI) – designated comprehensive cancer center with a multi-site national presence. Our three campuses – in Jacksonville, Fla., Phoenix/Scottsdale, Ariz;, and Rochester, Minn. offer MCCC a broad
geographic reach to serve patients, regionally nationally and internationally. Through our Jacksonville clinic, patients have access to more than 400 physicians, including 85 who are involved in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Physicians at our Jacksonville clinic diagnose and care for more than 10,000 patients with cancer every year.

MCCC offers a broad array of cancer diagnostic, treatment and support services for our patients including medical oncology, radiation oncology, neuro-oncology, surgical oncology(including minimally invasive and reconstructive procedures), malignant hematologic diseases, bone marrow transplantation, familial genetic cancer screening, nutrition, cancer psychologic counseling and cancer support groups. MCCC has leading experts in a variety of rare cancers and related hematologic diseases requiring specialized treatment, including sarcoma, thyroid cancers, myeloma, amyloidosis and melanoma, among others. In Florida, MCCC participates in a collaborative bone marrow transplant program with Nemours Children’s Clinic and Wolfson Children’s Hospital to provide specialized BMT services to both adults and children.

MCCC’s internationally recognized physicians and scientists collaborate across the spectrum of cancer research – including basic, translational, clinical and population sciences. Approximately 900 cancer-related clinical trials are available at MCCC.
